A recently completed commission. Completed in Adobe Photoshop CS and Open Canvas 3 from start to finish. Shameless use of outerglow on star seeds. See sketch for additional notes. Pose inspired by the a wonderful drawing by Klar of Raven, located in her Scraps. Some artistic liberties taken with costumes, based on a combinaton of the anime and manga.
EDIT
I've had to watermark the image due to a couple of cases of the image being reposted without my permission.
I never liked Sailor Moon, I was too much a fan of Ronin Warriors, but the drawing's good regardless of the subject matter. The shading is flawless and I like the colors. Nice wings too. I didn't know the Scouts even had'em.
I love your way of interpreting the Sailor Moon style! The colors are so soft and ethereal looking, yet bright and vibrant at the same time. This is especially noted on the uniforms and the night sky. The shading is fantastic, it gives a real texture to the piece (especially on the wings). I love how you colored Cosmos' uniform especially, the skirt looks great how you did the pastels.
The combining of the manga and the anime versions of the uniforms turned out fantastic! It gives the piece such an elegant vibe. The poses look great, I love the mirrored effect of them facing each other. I'm really loving how you drew the staffs. The sky looks lovely, the star seeds are the perfect touch and the stars themselves (along with the moon) add just the right amount of light (which reflects well in the way you shaded it)
