A maiko in a Summer Butterfly kimono feeds a colorful assortment of fauna.
Artist's Notes: The sleeves are too short for a maiko, and the bottom of the kimono is too long, but otherwise I'm happy with it. Painted with Grumbacher watercolors and Koh-I-Noor white ink on cold press watercolor paper. Size: 9"x12" ORIGINAL CURRENTLY FOR SALE. Prints pending approval. EDIT: Oh man. Pardon the spelling errors. My brain is slipping. EDIT2: OH MY! Thank you so much for the DD and for all the favorites and comments! By popular request here is are links to the details: Detail 1 Detail 2 Detail 3 EDIT 3/6/06: I'm a bit of a perfectionist. I went in and changed a few things digitally in this piece- I took out one of the birds, added more butterflies, tweaked the tree, etc. I like this piece a lot better now. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces.
